After the washout of yesterday, I was right down in the dumps this morning at the prospect of another week in the office, not least because it was the dreaded monthly full staff meeting today. On arrival, though, Elsie and I found that our departing acting section head Cecil had left us a farewell present - a couple of tins of chocolates. Those made the day highly bearable.
