Mar. 15th, 2011 05:25 pmHawks v Braintree last night. Jon McDonald put us in front after 3 minutes but we threw a lead away again. Yes, we were playing the league leaders, yes, their striker used his elbow to score the equaliser, yes, the scorer of their second goal was lucky to be on the pitch after gobbing off at the ref seconds earlier - but we just can't afford to throw matches down the drain like that. Most of the Hawks fans' ire was directed at the referee and the scorer of the second goal - both got a verbal caning as they came off the pitch, but our own team had spurned several chances to make the points safe - as well as our defence being caught napping for Braintree's second. If anyone now tries to tell me we can still finish in the top five I will refer them to a mental hospital.
