Went to Moneyfields last night for the Portsmouth Women's Cup Final. My girls got spannered by Pompey Ladies again and neither Miss Sapphire nor lovely Michelle came :(

Had to spend most of today in the spreadsheet, so early on plugged in my iPod, only for Bev, Sue and Chris to remark that they could hear the music loud and clear. Obviously it was bothering them, so I turned the volume down, only to find that my manipulating the volume control had no effect on the level of noise actually coming out of the damn gizmo. As that level was pretty loud, I guessed it was really too much for my colleagues, so spent two hours working the naffing spreadsheet in deathly silence.

This evening my father tried it out. The level of noise in his ears, again, remained constant no matter what he did with the volume control, but to my mother and me listening on the outside the sound did go up and down. Very weird. As the iPod was a Christmas present from the parents, they gave me the receipt and I'll have to pop down to Argos after work tomorrow and see if anyone there can help. In the meantime, I face another day's spreadsheeting in dead silence tomorrow. Bloody charming.
