We had a changeover of PCs today; it's farewell to my racketty old machine as, at last, I have a modern one. Of course it didn't go smoothly. It was about an hour before Chris and I could get into our internal email or onto the internet, then even longer before any of us could start on the week's workload. Once we had the net, I at least had the spreadsheet to be getting on with while some of the others were left twiddling their thumbs for another half hour or so. For the rest of the day we each had to step aside from our desks every now and then while Robbie, our tech wizard, came round to install something or uninstall something else.

Meanwhile several of the ladies were highly amused by my revelation that I'd begun my Christmas shopping just after five this morning. They all realised that was down to the wonders of the world wide web rather than Gosport's retailers throwing their doors open in the wee small hours, but were still tickled.

Being St Andrew's Day, there was haggis for lunch in the canteen. Very tasty.

Into Fareham on the way home to buy the last couple of prezzies, plus my cards.
