Jan. 4th, 2009 04:14 pmTo a chilly Fort Blockhouse this afternoon for Hawks Ladies v Southampton WFC. The hot drinks machine is still out of over half the advertised drinks, including caffe latte, as it has been for over a month. Surely a British military establishment should keep its drinks machines stocked better than that >:(
After a lacklustre first half the girls got into gear after the break and won 7-3, and Jenna F scored :) , but the biggest news of the day came off the pitch. A short time into the match Kay arrived with Vicky and a few friends, to tell us that she was back from sea and would be playing for us again soon - and that she and Vicky got engaged on Boxing Day. They haven't set a date for the civil partnership ceremony yet, but they have booked the clubhouse at Westleigh Park for an engagement party. They told the girls - and me - that we'd all be getting invites.
