Dec. 24th, 2008 08:37 amPosting from the office again before I go on shift. We had another fine nibbles table last night - mince pies, little chocolate ice cream rolls, flapjacks and more luxury chocolate biscuits. As Julie-Ann said at the end of the shift, we're all stuffed before the Christmas break has even started.
Got to say a personal Happy Christmas to her at the end of the shift, but didn't get a kiss :( but I did get a kiss and a hug from Kim, partly, I imagine, in gratitude for my doing the swap with her that gave her today off.
Walking along the corridor this morning, one of the cleaners said to me "Didn't expect to see anyone here today." I explained that for us in the telephone unit it's a normal working day.
"Cor, everyone else has got the day off," he replied. Certainly the place is deserted like a Saturday - nobody on main reception, the canteen, shop and library are all shut and there's nobody roaming the corridors. There's only us poor saps on the phones keeping the gaff alive.
