Interviewing with my sore throat and stuffy nose was no joke. With the grumpiness brought on by my cold, the overhanging malaise from Friday's typing test and the Hawks' insipid performance on Saturday, when just before the end of the first hour a pig ignorant woman totally ignored my explanation that ours was a survey she'd done before, a year ago, and just said "I'm not interested" and hung up, I was ready to blow up.

Sue #6 and Cathy both spared a moment to talk, and Sue was good enough to lend me her squeezy plastic lemon - as I hadn't brought a mug in, and it wouldn't have been right to contaminate one of the communal office mugs with my germs, I had to make do with cold water from the cooler to squirt some lemon juice into.

Being leap week, I was one of a small band who got to come off the phones for a 'Reluctance Forum' where we were given cards with actual scenarios in which people had refused to do the survey initially, and asked how we'd try and persuade them. My group did OK, in several cases guessing right what successful strategies had been used. The most common successful ploy, it turned out, was simply to ask someone else in the household to do the survey instead :)

The forum overran, so when we got back upstairs it was 2.15 meaning I didn't have to go back on the phones, just do my e-mail, enter my payclaim and go. Marilyn, who'd been co-co-ordinating the reluctance forum, came over and gave me a chocolate egg as a thank you for my contribution.
