Class went OK. The only down side was that the cafe was closed because the lady who staffs it on Tuesday nights is off sick, so the only beverage available was water from the cooler in the school reception :( Worked through the rest of the chapter on Spreadsheets and just had time to make a beginning on one of the full practice exercises. I learned one valuable lesson : when it said 'Replace all instances of 6.00 with 6.25', I used Replace All, only for it to change a 16 to a 16.25. I clicked Undo and tried to do Replace again, intending to do individual replacements this time, but the computer didn't like that. 'Windows could not find a match', it said both times I tried. So I'll start the whole exercise from scratch next week. Should get a couple of mock exams done by the end of next week's class then on to the real thing in a fortnight, touch wood.

Coming out of school, was a few minutes down the road when I realised I'd left the coursebook CD in my PC. I hurried back into the school and found the IT unit locked up. Thank goodness the caretakers were around and were fine with opening up the unit and letting me switch on the PC to retrieve the precious disc...
