Nov. 18th, 2007 05:11 pmOff to the village playing field in Compton for Hawks Ladies' Hampshire Cup match with Eastleigh. Pelting down with rain all afternoon! My coat and umbrella between them did the job of protecting my top half, but my trousers got saturated - as well as liberally sprayed with mud. The girls won 9-0. Towards the end of the second half Rob came to join me for a moment; while the ball was out of play, he had a few consoling words for the Eastleigh keeper, whose handling had been pretty good, and suggested she come and sign for Hawks - "we've got a goalkeeping coach"! After the game Trev and Dick thanked me for coming, saying they took their hats off to me for making it to the game despite it being on a remote village pitch and in foul weather.
