Jul. 11th, 2007 05:50 pmA fairly painless shift, and at last the weather was pleasant enough to take my mini-breaks in the open-air seating area. Mentioned to some of the ladies in the lounge area that I'm going away a week today - some were envious, while a couple wondered why I'd chosen Finland, so I explained about the Global Alternative Song Contest, how Åland had looked interesting, and the music festival.
Yet again I didn't touch the nibbles (Jammie Dodgers and chocolate digestives). My last interview overran to 2.20. On my way out, went round saying "See you in 3 weeks" to all the girls I know to speak to who won't be in on Friday.
Went to buy an ice cream in Fareham on the way home. The ice-cream man turned out to be the bloke who used to have a jacket potato wagon on Gosport High Street - he said he'd seen a photo of me as Mayor's Consort last year and remembered me from when I used to buy spuds from him. And he only charged me £1 for a £1.40 Strawberry Crunch :)
