Jul. 8th, 2007 09:01 pmHad cause to phone my bank this evening. The friendly lady I spoke to asked what I'd done this weekend.
"Went to London yesterday for the rugby league."
"Dare I ask who you support?" she said.
"Harlequins."
"Oh, that's not too bad," she seemed to smile. "I wouldn't have been amused if you'd been a Saints fan."
With her strong Lancashire accent, plus the fact my bank's customer service centre is near Wigan, I asked "Are you a Wigan fan?"
She was. "If you'd been a Saints fan I would have cried," she said.
We got on really well from then on.
