May. 18th, 2007 05:20 pmBack to work this morning, still feeling some of the comedown. And then I checked my lj profile in the coffee lounge and saw someone I really liked had de-listed me.
I know I've been out of the loop these last few months and not reading my friends as much as I should have, thanks to all the mayoral duties, so I can understand it, but I'm sad to lose her. And her lj is friends only so I can't take a look at it and see if she just had a friends cull last night :( I've commented her begging to be reinstated so hope that does the trick...
Went onto the unit just before 9 to check my internal e-mail and see if Mary had got back to me over 9am-2pm shifts. She hadn't. So I started to make my way out to the lounge, when Heather #1 said "You can start early if you want, it'd help if you did as we've got a lot of work to do." As I'd still have had to work till 2.30 anyway, and didn't feel up to doing more than five hours, and to be honest still needed to sit and relax with a cup of coffee for a while, I said I'd wait till 9.30, which I sensed didn't go down well.
So when I returned to the unit just before half past I explained to her that I wasn't really feeling up to doing a longer shift and was a bit in the dumps after someone let me down last week and then leaving mayoral office on Wednesday. Heather was fine with that, thank goodness. She advised me to "look in the paper to see what's on, and find somewhere to go to cheer myself up"; I explained that I have to channel my funds into saving for my holiday, so Heather and Hilary advised me to just look forward to that...
The shift really dragged. I don't think I interviewed more than half a dozen households the whole time, and when all you're doing is getting answering machines and entering 'No Reply' in the computer, and now and then reading the message leaving our freefone number, time goes so slowly. But at least I didn't overrun.
