When I arrived on the office floor, Sue #4 said she had a new login password for me and would bring it to my desk later.
Everyone around me said what a quiet or slow shift it was, but I was quite busy. One woman, who had a very unconventional working life, was clearly whispering angry words before answering many of the early questions, then went off on one at me halfway through, mostly about how the questions 'didn't apply to her' and that she 'just can't carry on with this'. In a miracle, I managed to talk her round, and she completed the rest of her questions and all her daughter's without any more nonsense. I was less successful later with a miserable old man who, when I was trying to fix a convenient time, suddenly announced that he wanted to drop out, and wouldn't be persuaded :(
At least we had After Eights and mince pies on the nibbles table, and at 1.35 I still hadn't taken my second coffee break when I got an interview that went on to take half an hour. So after a few minutes of failing to catch people in, I was able to go for coffee with nothing to do when I got back except enter my payclaim, bin my waste and put my headphones away. Kushti.
