Stayed up all night to listen to the cricket, only for the Aussie batsmen to kick our arse :( Went to bed at 8 am.
Spent the afternoon delivering newsletters for me ma. My TV viewing was interrupted at teatime by the milkman wanting his money (I didn't have it so he offered to come back next week), then during the evening by Alan, a party activist, wanting his leaflets to deliver (I didn't know where my mother had put them so he said he'd come back tomorrow) and then a phone call from Mable, a nonagenarian friend of my mother's who's always phoning her to chat about nothing. I was starting to get a little narked with all these people who wanted the parents, both of whom were out, and whom I couldn't help; I really, really wanted peace and quiet. Thankfully, there were no more - apart from my mother ringing from her meeting to ask me to take the stew off the oven.
