At lunch time today the office canteen had a Greek day - there was a Greek vegetable soup for starter, kleftiko lamb or beef sofrito for main course, and a Greek-style fruit salad for dessert. As I was only taking a 15 minute break, and still can't go mad with the spending, I went for just a kleftiko lamb with portions of vegetables and Greek-style potatoes in their skins roasted with garlic and thyme. Lots of the girls from the unit were lining up at the same time as me; as I sat down Sue #1 said to me "You don't normally have lunch here" (it's true, I usually subsist on the nibbles table for the duration of the shift).

"This is my pay day treat," I explained. Very tasty it was too!

Went to Asda after work to see if they still had any Manager's Mix. They haven't - I shouldn't have been too surprised, after all the World Cup is a distant memory now. Had to settle for a 200g bag of ordinary peanuts for tonight's TV viewing (Dragons' Den and the classic Samuel L Jackson episode of Extras).

From there I walked on to the High Street, having convinced myself that Gosport has a branch of Thorntons. It doesn't. Took the bus to Waitrose and bought a Blandford Fly, then home.

It's been so long since I've had good greek food. I need to find a greek restaurant here in SF.

Based, I admit, solely on the top result in a Google search, have you tried Yianni's Greek Cuisine, 1708 Church St? Described as having a 'festive atmosphere'. If you've not been before, visit one day and tell us about it on here :)
