I'd booked Friday 20 October, Hart's Civic Day, as official holiday, thinking I'd never get a swap for that one. First thing this morning I saw a request on the swap board from Nikki, wanting someone to do Friday 1 September for her. In return she was willing to do any Friday except 18 August. Sensing the chance to save a hol and so gain a little extra bunce, on my first coffee break I rang Nikki and she agreed to the swap.
Because, in the three weeks since I put the holiday form in, I'd still not received it back, I assumed it couldn't have been actioned yet, so it would be a simple case of asking the Enquiry Team to fish the form out of the pile and ripping it up. Wrong. Paul and his colleague spent five minutes looking through the 'awaiting action' pile, the in tray, the out tray and their file on me, before finding the form in the 'actioned' pile. It had been actioned already. So I had to fill out a cancellation form withdrawing my request for holiday on that day, before submitting the shift swap form. What a palaver.
A fleeting glimpse of Lisa; alas, 'twas not to be... I can't believe ghastly Grace, Mrs Bunny Boiler and the karzi rat have all been voted back in! At least it wasn't bloody Jayne.
But I've got to look on the bright side - AISLEYNE IS IN THE FINAL! AISLEYNE IS IN THE FINAL! W00T!
