Went to the Havant & Waterlooville v Bournemouth friendly. Starting the pre-season before the World Cup's finished seemed a bit strange at first, but it was a top afternoon - glorious sunshine, a near capacity crowd, a tasty bacon roll AND Havant beat League opposition. After 9 minutes Tony Taggart slalomed Maradona-style through four Bournemouth defenders, evaded the keeper and side-footed in the only goal of the game. What more could you ask for?

Then home for a cold Pepsi and Germany v Portugal. I said during Euro 2004 that Schweinsteiger was going to be a star - he's well on the way now.

Tonight I've got Barthez, Gallas, Thuram and Henry for France; and Cannavaro, Grosso, Gattuso and Pirio from Italy. Ive got a feeling that they may end up cancelling each other out!
