Convulsed with laughter this morning at Pete's "There's a bee in the pool" routine on BB7. That guy is quality.

Today's The News had a banner advert on the front saying 'Free World Cup feast', with a picture of a pizza.

I turned straight to the advertised page. There were tokens good for a free sub sandwich at Subway, a free pizza at Pizza Hut and a free family chicken meal bargain pack at Ken's Fried Chicken, all valid tomorrow only (to tie in with England v Trinidad). So far so good, though a moment's scrutiny showed the tokens were only good at the Portsmouth branches, and they said 'Collection only' - no delivery - so I'd have to go over to Portsmouth in the morning so as not to miss Ecuador v Costa Rica. Then I looked closer - all the tokens offered a free second meal with a full price one. That was the end of my free lunch.

Silly, there's no such thing as a free lunch.

And yes, they sedate the cats. When my sister was little, we overheard her recounting the story of the cats' declawings, and she told whomever she was telling that the vet "seduced the cats" before he did anything else. Ever since then, I have to make that joke whenever possible. It never gets old!

I have been piddling around with my knitting and blog for hours today, and haven't watched any of the world cup games. I do have fish & chips left over from dinner last night, so YAY! Thank goodness for Tivo.
