Some of the people on the evening shift bought the remaining teams in the sweepstake, so Sarah's forgiven :)
Steve arrived late this morning. When I came off the call I was on and said hello to him, he groaned that it was much too nice a day to be sitting in the office. I knew what he meant, but it was a bit easier for me with it being my last shift until the 27th... My last interview overran by 20 minutes, which again suited me fine with Sarah leaving at 3.10. As I went round saying goodbye and "See you in a fortnight" to people, a couple asked whether I was going on holiday anywhere nice. My confession of the more prosaic truth - that I'll simply be spending the next 18 days sitting at home watching the World Cup - drew just as much envy from Phil and Paul as if I had been going on holiday. As I waited downstairs for Sarah, the last person I said goodbye to was Jane who passed through on her way out. She's totally got World Cup fever and was well impressed with my swap deal - on her way through the exit she yelled "Go England!" "Hup Holland Hup!" I replied and we both laughed.
Got home to find a jiffy bag addressed to me, containing Journey South's CD. No letter of explanation with it, nothing else at all, just the Journey South CD. I think I may have entered a competition to win it, so I guess I won.
