What happened?

Everything that could have gone wrong, did. Didn't get the junction waiting routine quite right at any time, resulting in stalling twice and having to hammer on the brake once, by which time I'd committed the steering and had to swerve all over the shop on moving; kept coming round corners too fast; still oversteering; etc. etc. Of course, the more mistakes I made the worse mood I got in and that didn't help...

Agh, what a pisser. I think everybody has a few lessons like that when they're learning. I'm with ellakite - it sounds as though the best thing you can do is take a few days off from it and come back to it when you're in a calmer frame of mind.

I know it doesn't feel like it sometimes, but you'll get there. xx

You're still alive, though. Could've been worse? :/

Hope you're gonna be okay though. What happened?

Agh, not good. Eh, put it down to a bad day? You're not usually like this, so mebbie it's just one of those things. -hugs-

Are you physically OK? I think most people have at least one bad experience while learning how to drive. Please don't be ashamed to talk about the details.

I just saw your other replies regarding what happened.

I've got my own share of "horror stories" regarding my first 5 driving lessons. What you describe actually sounds pretty typical. So *PLEASE* don't criticize yourself too much. It takes quite a bit of time and effort to get comfortable with the machine. Think about it: you're trying to learn how to control several tons of metal moving at high speed. Of *COURSE* you're going to be stressed out & unfamiliar with how to control it!

As long as no one was hurt & nothing was damaged, you've got nothing to be ashamed of. Take a day or two to calm down, learn from the experience & try again. As long as you learn from what went wrong, then the effort was not wasted... and it probably will help you more in the long run.

sorry to hear that, hon. on the bright side, though, i am totally stealing "shagwanking" as my new acceptable-in-front-of-my-parents curse word. replaces "buggerybollocks" as of now!

I was expecting to see 12 comments about the word 'shangwanking'. :)

Don't get too disheartened. Everyone has crappy lessons, especialy at the beginning.

I had a few 'mares' myself...it'll come, the timing, the steering etc

Look on the bright side. It wasn't your test. :)

I'm sorry to hear it went so badly, but try not to let it get you down - everyone has really awful lessons while they're learning, to the extent of wondering why they're even trying to do it, but we all get there in the end!

Every so often, you have a terrible lesson, it's the way it goes. Expect to have an appalling one just before your test, too. Stay with it, my lovely, and you'll be better next time.
