The Anniversary Waltz

Mum and Dad's Golden Wedding Anniversary. I found their actual wedding photo and posted on Facebook with Happy Anniversary wishes, and got a slew of lovely messages from family and friends. As they don't usually mark their anniversary, several friends and relations hadn't known, so my post prompted them to rush round and drop off cards, flowers and chocolates. Dad, with his usual deadpan humour, snarked "Thank you for reminding me" when I gave them their card and said Happy Anniversary.

At tea time I treated them to fish and chips from the village chippy. We had profiteroles for dessert. Dad's a Manchester United fan so after we'd eaten we let our tea go down watching West Ham v Man U, then Mum made us snowballs for a toast. Then we had Strictly on.
