Had to make a visit to the office today. Turned over my She Kicks calendar to the December page to reveal a picture of Beth Mead in action for England in the snow in the Czech Republic last winter.
It seems like another lifetime now, the times of travelling with my friends to see the England Lionesses. Something I'd love more than anything right now.
Although lockdown might be coming to an end, the continuing Tier 2 restrictions mean that, for me in practice, very little is going to change. Yes, there'll be AFC Portchester home games, but without the joys of a pint or two; and best not to risk journeys to London and Birmingham for women's football in the flesh, or groundhopping excursions to places like Wimborne, for the foreseeable future.
The Women's Super League streamed live online, and the odd Scottish game on BBC Alba, will have to sustain me, along with the goings-on in 1995 Walford (and even those have plenty of gloom and doom). I'm A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here is letting me down, kicking out everyone I like (and yes, I did vote).
Hoping Katerina Svitkova starts to unleash what she's capable of. Her leaving England without me getting to see her play in the flesh would be too much.
The one bright spot today was the always delightful Classroom Classics on Galaxy Gold this evening, with a few Christmas songs now being added to the mix - I requested Bob Dylan's Must Be Santa, always raises a smile.
