Jun. 11th, 2014 07:40 pmDropped in at the blood donation session at the scout hut after work. As it was going to be my 25th donation, the lady who did my health check presented me with a 'thank you' card. Alas, it was premature : after two pinpricks floated, I had to have a sample tested for haemoglobin - and was one point short. At least she didn't ask for the card back.
Walked up to the high street to wait for the bus home. Outside the Black Lion was a sign "Come on England - we support you (but we have no TV)". That didn't strike me as a great marketing ploy. They've fallen between two stools, with appeal neither to football fans nor to anti-football types. They'd probably have attracted more business with a sign reading 'WORLD CUP FREE ZONE'.
And so back home to watch Watchdog.
