St Elmo's Fire
Nov. 8th, 2013 09:03 pmIronically, since yesterday evening I have the unmistakable sore throat that heralds a cold coming on :(
Into Leighton after work to do a bit of Christmas shopping then on to the Pulford School bonfire and fireworks. The queue for burgers and hot dogs was a mile long - a man in a hi-vis jacket walked along the line saying sorry to us all, saying there'd been a technical hitch with the BBQ - but the burger was extremely tasty, well worth the wait. The bonfire was a glorious sight, even if it was a fair distance away from the crowd so with that and my stuffy nose I was unable to get the whiff of bonfire in my nostrils :( The fireworks lasted a full half hour, a beautiful riot of colour lighting up the skies, from multi-coloured star shells through assorted rockets to brilliant white soaring comets. To top it all, they were accompanied by instrumental versions of hits of 1986.
Going to have a Dave Gorman : Modern Life is Goodish marathon on Dave On Demand.
