A day's holiday, to run my car over to Stewkley for her MOT then head into Leighton for my first appointment with the physio. One of the mechanics gave me a lift into town to save me the bus fare.

The physio was a young Indian chap, who introduced himself by his long full name then said "Call me Ajay." He asked me to tell him about my shoulder pain - he believed it could be traced back to my fall in January after all - then ran through several general medical questions.

From pressing on and massaging both the affected area, my good shoulder and my neck, talking about cricket the whole time, and getting me to do several stretch exercises, Ajay concluded that the trapezium muscle on the bad side has become tightened. It improved with some more pressing and massage, and Ajay ended by giving me a new set of exercises to do and telling me to keep up the Naproxen and hot and cold gel packs, and asked me to come back in a fortnight's time as he's on holiday next week.

Phoned garage but couldn't get through before the day's only bus from Leighton to Stewkley went. Went to Subway for lunch, taking care to avoid anything high-calorie or salty, and phoned the garage again. Hooray, she'd passed. The mechanic asked me to wait an hour or so before coming, so sat reading in the library for a while then took a taxi out to Stewkley.

When I paid, the mechanic said the wear on the front tyres was uneven and the handbrake rode higher than it should, but those weren't enough to fail. He said he'd noticed that I live in Heath and Reach, and said they collect cars from there and deliver them back when the work's done. He said they do say so on their website. Clearly I'd missed that, but handy to know.

Home to watch Countdown. On the drive home the tag fell off the key ring I keep my car keys on. It was only a GMB Union one given me by my father when he got it as a free hand-out, but still a nuisance. Got to go surfing in search of a suitable new one.
