Still The Same
Jul. 2nd, 2013 06:01 pmAfter four weeks of Naproxen, exercises and hot and cold gel packs, the shoulder pain is still there. So went back to the surgery this morning. The doc asked me a few questions - she seemed to think reaching for the mouse at work instead of having it right in front of me, as I now prefer, might have been the principal cause, and didn't think my fall in January was likely to be the root cause as the pain didn't start until May. She had me do a few arm movements, then when we'd established that the pain wasn't as bad as in May, she said she'd refer me to a physiotherapist, that it was likely to be 6 to 8 weeks before I got an appointment, and to keep doing the Naproxen, exercises and packs in the meantime.
So another 6 to 8 weeks without alcohol, the longest I've gone dry since starting university 24 years ago. I will be having Britvic 55 with my meals at the Heath Inn for a while longer. And all that time I'm unlikely to be completely rid of the shoulder pain.
At least Agnieszka Radwanska - my favourite of the ladies still in the singles - is through to the semis and tonight's the night the mobile chippy comes to the village.
