Freezing cold this morning, car windows completely frosted over.
Dentist's after work for scale and polish (I always want to call it a 'spit and polish'). Another real thorough job, lots of scraping. John the hygienist was an affable chap, Scots by the sound of it; after asking where I work and about my upcoming move to MK, he told me all about how he came to the area through Naval service, and knows just about all the local dentists.
From there, I was introduced to Jane, the oral health consultant. She asked about my tooth-brushing habits, got me to demonstrate my technique on a model of a set of teeth and gums, and advised me to add an extra brush in the mornings, and floss all the way round once a day. Interestingly, seven years ago a previous dentist warned me not to brush over the gum; now Jane advised me not to leave out the gum region of my teeth when brushing, so as to avoid plaque build-up.
