This Wheel's On Fire
Jan. 5th, 2012 07:17 pmHalfway to work this morning, heard a rattling sound at the back of my car. Thought perhaps it was the wind - until, further up, the ride suddenly became very bumpy. On arriving at the office Sam, who'd arrived just behind me, confirmed my suspicions and informed me that I had a flat tyre.
Later in the morning Sam rang her sister-in-law Kay, who also works at our office, to arrange for Steve, one of the maintenance men, to change my flat tyre for the spare. When Steve and I went down to the car park, in daylight I was able to see what I hadn't in the pitch dark of 7 am : my tyre was cut to absolute ribbons. The wheel cover was off as well - Maria quipped that I ought to keep an eye open for it on the drive home. Steve got the spare attached without a hitch.
Made it home safely.
