To the surgery after work for my blood pressure reading. Still high. So I have to take readings twice a day for a week on a machine they've given me and then make an appointment with a GP after Christmas before they can give me a referral to use the office gym. Which means I can't join until the New Year and will no longer qualify for the 'Join for a Coin' promotion, and will have to pay the full membership fee of £17.50. When I'm probably only going to be at this office a couple more months. Arsebiscuits. But I'll still be going through with it, because I do need to get regular exercise in and the prospect of going for walks in the open air in pouring rain, which we're sure to get plenty of in the coming weeks, does not exactly fill me with rapture.
I know the health checks are done for our own safety, but can't get over the irony of my being out of shape meaning I have to jump through all these hoops to do something intended to improve my health and fitness.
Wish Katherine would get in touch, I could do with someone to talk to (Sue #5's off work now till the New Year).
