Called at Fareham Asda on the way home to get my passport photos for the interview. It's years since I last had them done, and the new-style machine makes for a right palaver. You have to put your face in an on-screen oval to comply with the new passport regulations, and even then I was told my first pose didn't meet the required standard - I had to remove my specs to pass second time. Whenever I pressed 'take photo' on the touchscreen nothing happened for ages, which made me wonder if the machine was working properly. But finally I got my pics, and unlike years' worth of passport photos they actually look passable.
