Aug. 18th, 2010 05:45 pmWent to start the car this morning and the smegging battery was flat YET again. So I'm back on the tugboating buses while our family friend the motor expert tries to find the fault.
Did my numeracy test as a pre-qualifier for the RSS Ordinary Certificate. It's a written exam covering basic arithmetic, per cents and algebra, where you have to show all your working-out. Sue and Demelza suggested having a dummy run early this morning of the mock paper the course tutor sent me a while ago. I'd already glanced at it a few times over the past weeks but it was just as well I took their advice, as looking through the solutions showed I made a couple of basic slip-ups. Ring rust. After that I made sure to be extra careful with checking during the actual test. Still finished in one hour when we were allowed two.
An email arrived from the tutor late in the afternoon to say I'd passed.
Hay fever playing up all day.
