May. 1st, 2010 02:19 pmWent to Fareham farmers' market in search of some local honey. Weaving my way through election campaigners, both general and local, handing out leaflets and balloons, I called at a couple of cheese stalls (one cow's, one goat's) and sampled and bought some of their offerings before finding the Hampshire Beekeepers' stall at the far end. There were two large rackfuls, one of 'Fareham Honey' and one of 'Hampshire Honey'. The labels on the latter said it was from Locks Heath, but the guy on the stall, seeing the HWFC badge on my rain jacket, said "This is from the Havant and Waterlooville area."
In the queue at the olive stall, I was behind a lady with two kids - the elder, a girl about six or seven, was holding a Lib Dem balloon while the baby's pushchair had a Tory balloon tied to it...
It's now, on the first Saturday afternoon of the close season, that it really kicks in that the football's finished. I'll still be watching the Non League Vidiprinter this afternoon (as well as tuning in to Jeff Stelling of course), as there are a couple of play-offs that will decide who comes up into the Blue Square South. I really fancy a trip to Kingstonian, and would like to see them promoted after the troubles they've had the last few years, so come on you K's...
