Joined Malc, Aly and two more Hawk nuts, Steve and Joe, after work yesterday to drive up to Aldershot for the Academy boys' Floodlit Cup final. Spud was on the bench - much to Malc's amusement, the programme described him as 'son of the legendary McMalc Jamieson'. "Spud'll be well pissed off. Always in my shadow."

Alas, our lads lost 1-0 and there was no sign of any of the Ladies - I'd hoped some of the Academy girls might have come along to cheer on their pals, but it wasn't to be. There were a few more of the usual away hardcore, though, and Sally and Jordan still do physio for the lads' side; we sat right behind the dugout so I did get to say hello to Sally just before the start of the second half, prompting Malc to turn round to me and say "You are a tart." Got a glimpse of Jordan, but she didn't see me.

Home just before midnight, so started work later this morning and soldiered on till 5.30, two hours after most of the others had gone and 45 minutes after Sophie, the last in my stretch of the floor to go before me. Bev and a couple more reckoned I was mad staying so late on a Friday, but I need the hours in the bank for Newquay flex day...

Pick us a winner tonight, Pete.
