Dec. 7th, 2009 06:03 pmArrived at my new desk this morning to find it covered in plant pots and kettles. Spent the first quarter hour carrying them all along the aisle to deposit them on a vacant desk where other random knick-knacks reposed.
Towards the end of the afternoon Chris came over to talk me through the corrections to the batch I'd coded in the late morning. I'd made half a dozen mistakes - which is bad for me, I've been averaging one or two these last few weeks - and Chris sounded radged off at me when she took me through them, especially when she reminded me of one error she said Simon had pulled me up on the other week. After an emotionally draining few days that was all I needed.
Then the shuttle bus no-showed, so we of the usual crowd all had to stand around in the cold for twenty minutes until the regular bus shambled up a quarter of an hour behind schedule. And both this bus, and the one to Gosport, spent a fair amount of time crawling along in traffic.
Bloody rotate.
