Dec. 5th, 2009 11:05 amJust come from a driving lesson. Did an OK turn in the road despite feathertouching the kerb and wasn't going too bad, apart from a Whitehall farce on one street corner when an oncoming lady and I, behind a parked car, both sat still each waiting for the other, then both moved - we both made it through the space, but Peter had to explain to me the etiquette of signalling when about to move round a parked car. Then I picked the wrong starting point for my bay park, and my attempt at correcting it by pulling forward then steering didn't quite put me in the right place, then on trying to correct it further I stalled. Peter told me to move forward and do another bay park in one of the sideways-facing rows. Lined up to a good starting position...then on preparing to move, stalled again. I was feeling so pissed off that I just sat there like a lemon, while Peter said we had to get parked up as we couldn't just sit still there. Completed the move without further problems. That was our scheduled rest break, which was just as well, because I really felt like chucking up the whole morning, but we went back on the road and I completed an OK parallel park, though was undone by once again hammering too hard on the brake for the emergency stop...
Got to go to Lee to drop off Ness's Christmas box. When I get back I think I'll crack open one of my Christmas Oakleaf beers.
