Dentist's for a check up and spit and polish. No problems with the check-up, but the hygienist was running late thanks to her equipment failing first thing this morning, meaning she'd had to commandeer someone else's room, so I had to wait around for half an hour before I got the call. While she was doing me, she added that the chaos had been made worse by people arriving early. That increased my feeling that people who'd apparently come after me, and been called while I waited, had been leapfrogging me. When she'd finished she said I was getting some build-up between my teeth so advised me to start flossing.

Back at the office, Lynn smiled "Everyone gets advised to start flossing, very few people do." Bev was highly amused by my saying "spit and polish". I do know it's actually called a scale and polish, but for some reason I've been calling it 'spit and polish' since I had my first one a few years ago. Probably because it's a familiar phrase to me, being the name of Laura Cantrell's record company.

Everyone's busy packing their stuff into crates ahead of the Great Desk Shift at the weekend. Like Simon, I'm lucky enough to have little to shift and only a short way to move, so if poor old Demelza's off sick tomorrow I should get away with leaving my gear on her desk (in between my old and new ones).

Had to go into town after work to post some CDs, so wandered over to the Oakleaf brewery to stock up on Pompey Royal and Reindeer's Delight - my Christmas treat.
