Jun. 15th, 2009 04:54 pmI'm already used to the 7 am starts. Was able to play myself in gently by spending the first half-hour or so doing the opening two modules of the online Information Security course we all have to do.
Good news just after 10 am - I heard Elaine telling Sue that my payroll details have been updated to show my new job and hours. Surfed on in to check and there they were. The only bug was I was still listed as 'part time' instead of 'full time' (although I was shown as now working 37 hours a week) - Sue was able to edit this.
It was actually Sue's birthday, and just after editing my profile she announced to us all that she was putting cakes on the table. Only one lot were Weight Watchers - the Belgian chocolate slices - so they were much in demand from the ladies. I went for a cherry Bakewell. I hadn't checked the birthday list last week so hadn't known, so at lunch time I bought Sue a card from the office shop.
Simon was on leave today, but Christine was on hand to explain whenever my answers showed a difference from the correct ones that I didn't spot.
In the afternoon an envelope went round collecting for flowers for Mel's 40th next month. To make a decent contribution I had to put in nearly everything I had on me, and I wasn't carrying my cash card, so on arrival home had to pop out to the hole in the wall. Just made it back for the European Under-21s.
