May. 17th, 2009 05:16 pmJust come from seeing the Hawk girls play Southampton Saints in the Southern League Cup Final at Cams Alders. It wasn't a classic game by any means, rain poured down the whole time (we even got constant spits on us sitting in the covered stand) and, unforgivably, the tea hut no longer sells bacon rolls, but it was good to catch up with Malc and Richard who also attended, and the girls got the job done, winning 2-0 to complete a magnificent Treble. Told Dick, who was sat behind me, during the second half about yesterday's wasted journey to Weymouth. He said he was "sorry, for what it's worth", but of course it wasn't his fault. In the bar afterwards, when I got a chance to speak to Rob I told him - without being rude or aggressive in any way - how I'd got up at 5 am and spent over £25 on fares all for nothing, and he just said "sorry" - but he was grinning - then after a pause he added "Do you forgive me?" And that was it. I'm left with the profound sense that, really, he didn't give a toss.
Out on the covered portico, Dick was talking to Alex. As there was no-one else out there, I told Dick that I felt let down that neither Trev nor Rob had offered me anything towards my wasted train fare. Dick started to say something that sounded like he was going to chase them up to come forward with a few quid, but I told him not to and, indicating Alex, added "It goes no further than us three." Having made my point, I said my goodbyes.
