Sep. 11th, 2008 04:24 pmArrived on the telephone unit floor to be greeted by Christine #3 saying "Weren't you supposed to be in yesterday?" I knew straight away that that utter bollox Paul had deliberately not made the requested change to the roster to get back at me. Thankfully, Christine accepted my reply that there'd been a mistake and I hadn't had to do an extra shift after all. I thought of telling Pat how Paul had let both me and her down, but she wasn't on earlies and now that he seems to have forgotten the whole episode it probably wouldn't have been wise to make an enemy of him all over again.
The lady I did my last interview with kindly agreed to answer for her husband as well. The flip side was that, with most of us at the staff meeting (not me because I'd attended Tuesday night's) there was no-one to take over from me, so I had to do the whole thing and miss my bus. By the time Wendy, the duty supervisor, came over, said "You're looking over-keen" and explained that she'd come to see if I needed her to relieve me, I'd already finished the interview and was coding out. Plus the bus had already gone.
Wendy did add that Ann hadn't left yet and was offering me a lift into Fareham, so at least I wasn't left hanging around 45 minutes for the next bus.
As I waited for Ann to pack up her stuff, I switched on my phone to find a text from Vanessa saying her party was cancelled as she's in bed with flu. After Ann had dropped me in Fareham I rang Ness to see how she was, but there was no answer - probably didn't feel up to getting out of bed, bless her. Tried her mobile but it was switched off, but she texted me while I was on the bus going to Gosport to say she'd rearrange the party and that we'd chat when she felt better.
Rang Malc's mobile to see if there were any spaces left on the coach to Chelmsford on Saturday. Aly answered and said yes, so my name's down.
