On the first shift back at work after you've been on holiday, even a mini-break, the last thing you need is stroppy bitches who just want you off the phone as soon as possible. Which I got two of, in quick succession, halfway through the second hour. The first was the worst, as she would not even answer the check question as to whether she was living at the address we had for her. In reply to my "Are you still living at xx xxxxx Street, xxxx" - I tried five or six times - she would say "It's all right, no thank you" or something equally nonsensical, or just a loud forceful "Bye". I remarked to the supervisor "No-one listens to a blind word I say."

And there was still over four hours to go.

The rest of the shift was quite busy, and I didn't get to check my e-mail with one guy I phoned at 9.12 agreeing to do the interview then, but at least the pillock count decreased significantly.
