An hour or so into the shift, a Quality Street tin with a single layer of sweets covering much of the bottom appeared on the nibbles table with a message saying 'Happy New Year' signed by the supervisors. Left over from someone's Christmas, no doubt - there was only one green triangle left - but still a treat.
