Sep. 21st, 2007 04:16 pmA few minutes before the shift started, Sue #5 came up to me and said she wanted to talk about my histories (the records of our time spent on the phones each day). So we sat down at a spare table in the managers' area and Sue leafed quickly through the few days' records of mine from the last few weeks she'd printed. Nothing to fear, as I'd been working like a Stakhanovite - Sue even asked whether I'd been taking all the breaks I was entitled to! I assured her I do take a break of at least five minutes every hour. She concluded by dubbing me "Pat's star pupil" and saying Pat ought to give me a gold star.
As I sat down at my workstation to begin the shift, Lorna said to me "She hasn't been harsh on you, has she?"
"Hey, you're supposed to be on our [the managers'] side," Sue chipped in.
"I shift," Lorna grinned.
