Aug. 6th, 2007 08:00 pmThe weather seemed a bit milder this morning, and the forecast said it wouldn't be too good this afternoon, so I wore my fleece jacket to work.
Got a lot of people in bad moods on the phone - two of them hung up on me mid-sentence - and at the end of my last interview of the shift, the elderly woman clearly said "What a complete waste of time that was" as she put the phone down. Spoke to Mary about my beginning Monday evening shifts next month, and she said Pat would do the documentation for me to sign soon. So after I'd shut down and packed up, I saw Pat, who said she'd have the paperwork for me tomorrow. I thanked her and explained that I was looking to book a Monday in October as holiday, as I'm covering the morning shift that day for Rachel and I really don't fancy doing a double shift, plus Havant & Waterlooville are at home that night. Pat said that was fine, and that I could give her the holiday form now, so I hurriedly filled one in and handed it to her. Then down to the coffee lounge to check my e-mail. While there I went onto the Hawks web site and saw we'd been drawn at home in the Setanta Shield on Monday 12 November - legged it back up to the telephone unit to fill in another form and deliver it to Pat, then rushed out to the bus stop.
In blazing sunshine. I baked all the way home.
After dropping off the newspaper - and my jacket! - it was back onto the bus to restock my hay fever tablets and take my library book back. Stopped off at Asda on the way home for a Rolling Hitch.
Weekday evenings are sorted for me now, with a new classic comedy lineup on ITV3 - Goodnight Sweetheart, Never The Twain and Only When I Laugh.
