Waited at Fareham bus station for the 82. There was no sign of it, and all the Gosport buses were coming and going in a haphazard manner. After several minutes the only one that looked ready to go was the 88 - which goes all round the houses and wouldn't have got me home in less than an hour. But it was the only bus there so I got on. Then just as we were pulling out, I saw a bus pull into the station that was clearly an 82 or 85.

Mercifully, the other bus hadn't overtaken us by the time we got to the first stop, so I was able to hop out there. The traffic was horrendous, so it was about 10 minutes before the other bus, an 85, showed up, and when it did, we crawled along at a snail's pace. It was 4 pm by the time I hopped off at Waitrose and walked down to Asda, to buy a pack of razors and get myself an Easter egg. There'd been banners there for some weeks advertising Easter eggs for £1, but wandering up and down their Easter egg aisle, there wasn't an egg for less than £3.99 in sight. Walking around looking for an assistant, I reached a stall offering free samples of New York Baked Cheesecake and Channel Island cream, so tried a piece (it was delicious). By the time I handed back my paper plate, there was an assistant standing nearby so I asked her where the £1 eggs were. She had to think for a moment, then pointed me to the bottom of the aisle we were standing in - "There's only Rolo ones left," she added. So a Rolo egg it was.

Home to tune in to Aisleyne on Invincible Radio (hello Tilly!)
