At work today I seemed to get all the awkward sods going, most notably an 80-year-old Scotsman who started off by denying that he'd done the survey over the phone before and remained in an utterly cantankerous mood all through the call. Rosemary, sitting next to me, noticed that I seemed to be getting some crabby customers; I remarked that I'd had a succession of them, and she said "It seems to happen like that, they all come along at once. Like buses."

Thank goodness it was Monday, which meant nibbles - luxury chocolate biscuits and Halloween marshmallows, no less. Makes it bearable.
