eiffel_71: The Big Match opening title (Default)
Despite last month's news that nibbles were being abolished, there was a goodly selection on our table today. A box of little macaroon biscuits was marked 'From Rosemary', but I've no idea who was responsible for the bag of liquorice allsorts or the 'Chinese Moon Cake' (delicious - I helped myself to half a dozen squares over the course of the shift). Whoever did supply them, thank you very much.

In the vending machine, latte has gone up to 50p :( At least they've sorted the machine out so it now dispenses coffee instead of brown water with dense lumps of powder in it.

While talking to Katherine on the phone last night, I'd mentioned that the cheapest flights I could find to Newark next summer were with Alitalia for over £580. She asked whether I'd checked out Virgin Atlantic. I hadn't, so this morning before work I looked on their web site and found return flights, going out on 4 or 5 July and coming back on the 9th, for £286. Kushti! Just now, though, I went back on there and checked the prices again, and they've shot up to £498 (;-&
