May. 23rd, 2006 07:00 pmBrought my Melbourne photos into work to show Angela. Di asked to see them too, as she'd been away when I came back from Oz so missed seeing them then. Both were impressed. Also showed my Swiss and mayoral installation photos to those of the ladies who hadn't seen them yesterday - Hilary and Di were full of how pretty Catherine Leander is :)
Last night my mother told me we'd been invited to the Southampton Seafarers' Service at lunch time on Wednesday 28 June, so I needed to get the day off. I filled in a holiday form and handed it in to the clerical team, then minutes later I saw Louise #3 had put a request on the board wanting to swap out of the Tuesday 27th onto the Wednesday or Thursday. There's no early World Cup game on the Tuesday, and I prefer to do swaps rather than use my holidays where possible, just to keep my hours out of deficit and keep holidays in the bank for when they're needed (we're going to have quite a few functions on my working days). So I had to go back to the clerical team, get them to find my holiday form and bin it (thank goodness, they hadn't actioned it) and hand in a shift swap form instead.
Later Louise came over to my booth to thank me for doing the swap - one of her kids has a swimming gala on the Tuesday. She saw the photos from the mayoral installation on my table; she told me her parents had been there, as they're the new Mayor and Mayoress of Fareham!
