Switched on my phone on the walk up to the bus stop this morning to find a text from Vanessa saying there was a new NHS dental practice in Lee-on-the-Solent taking on patients. So just before 9 am, as I sat in the lounge resting before going on the phones, I rang the number she'd given me for the dentists, and was told I'd have to phone the NHS Dental Helpline in Southampton and register on the waiting list. Tried them twice and got engaged tone, but got through the third time, wasn't kept on hold too long, got my name down on the list and was told I should hear from them in 3-4 months. As I only had a check-up a month ago, that suits me fine :)

There was a full tin of Heroes on the nibbles table, with a Post-It saying 'Happy Easter' from Val and Heather #1. With just four days to go that was torture, but I'm proud to say I didn't go near the tin once. What was really hard was that the other side's nibbles table was groaning with a cornucopia of Easter goodies, including lots of non-chocolatey ones, but woe betide anyone from our side who partakes of their food :(

Got a three person family at 2.15, so made a start then waved a piece of paper around asking Val to find someone to take over from me. When Sarah #4 came and stood by my booth, I thought she was coming to relieve me, so told the lady I was interviewing that I was handing her over to my colleague and stood up, only for Sarah to say no, she'd just come to see Val. Next I saw Sue #1 coming in my direction, but she too was a false alarm - though she confirmed Val had been asking around for someone to finish my interview. So I had to apologise to the lady for the confusion and resume interviewing, till moments later Paulette appeared at my side and motioned to me that she was taking over. Waited for Sarah #4 to finish entering her payclaim then hopped in her booth to do mine. As I said goodbye to Tania she replied "Hurry up, don't miss your bus"...

Of course, by the time I got to Fareham I was Hank Marvin. By a miracle, the burger van was still open. Had a quarter pounder, went to Smith's and finally bought a new FourFourTwo, back to the burger van for another quarter pounder, back to the bus station, home.
