eiffel_71Mostly quiet shift today, a typical Friday, apart from one psycho old man who spat his dummy and abruptly terminated the call because he took umbrage at being asked whether he'd done any adult learning in the last 12 months.
Me ma and I were at the library this evening, where she was hosting the opening of an exhibition about Haslar Hospital. When Sir Graball D'Encloseland arrived and I shook his hand, he seemed a bit wary or distant - has he guessed it was me who sent his daughter the Valentine card?? Spent most of the evening talking to Richard from Havant and to family friends Keith and June - as they're of my mother's political colour we kind of gravitated together, especially Richard who was finding the openly political conversation of some ladies from the other side a bit much to take! Top notch buffet, with plenty of peanuts and various tasty types of crisps. Michelle had pre-warned my mother that there were only enough cream cakes for one each; I picked a big roll-type cake, it being one of the few that seemed to have neither chocolate content nor tinned fruit. It did actually have a couple of minuscule bits of chocolate on the outside, but I kept up my Lent observance and detached them. When Richard passed round the Maltesers, a lady who'd come and joined our little group declined for the same reason as me - that had June asking us if we were Catholics, which led to a long conversation about who went to what church...
