Auditions with the am dram group. As we’re doing a comedy, when trying out for one of the cameo parts I’ve registered my interest in, I intended to do it in a comic Welsh accent. Alas, for my first couple of lines it came out sounding Indian. I nailed the Welsh accent for my last line, prompting one of the casting panel to observe “Wandering accent there” and one of the other would-be cast members to say “Went on a tour of Britain!”

We got to watch a video of a production of the play from Shakespeare’s Globe in between tryouts. That was good fun at least.
